Ekklesia Kingdom Academy • Discipleship

Called to Follow Jesus.

Discipleship is more than church attendance. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, follow Him, grow into spiritual maturity, and participate in His mission in the world.

Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries

The Call to Discipleship

Take Up Your Cross Daily.

Jesus describes discipleship as a daily decision to follow Him.

Luke 9:23 lays out the fundamental requirement: self-denial, taking up the cross daily, and following Christ. Discipleship therefore reaches beyond what we believe into how we live, serve, love, obey, and mature.

Luke 9:23

Follow Me.

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”Luke 9:23

New Member Orientation

Who Is Ekklesia?

Ekklesia Kingdom Academy will give new members a clear foundation for understanding who we are, why Ekklesia exists, what makes our calling distinctive, and how every believer participates in the life and mission of the church.

Orientation 01

Who Is Ekklesia?

Our biblical identity, our church family, and what it means to belong to the people Christ is building.

Orientation 02

Upon This Rock

Jesus declares, “I will build my church.” We begin with Christ as the foundation and the One to whom the Church belongs.

“...upon this rock I will build my church...”Matthew 16:18

Orientation 03

The Great Commandment

Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. Love shapes both our worship and our ministry.

Orientation 04

The Great Commission

Jesus sends His followers to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach. Evangelism and disciple-making belong to the whole Church.

Orientation 05

The Calling

We are called not simply to attend church but to follow Christ, mature in Him, serve His Body, and participate in His mission.

The Purpose of the Church

Five Purposes. One Mission.

The Church exists to exalt Christ, equip the saints, evangelize the lost, build fellowship, and develop mature disciples.

Purpose 01 • Worship

Love the Lord With All Your Heart

The church exists first to worship God. We express our love for Him, celebrate His presence, magnify the Lord, and exalt His name.

“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”Psalm 34:3

Purpose 02 • Ministry

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself

Ministry demonstrates God’s love by meeting needs and caring for people in Jesus’ name. The saints are equipped for the work of ministry.

“...for the work of ministry...”Ephesians 4:12

Purpose 03 • Evangelism

Go and Make Disciples

Every Christian shares responsibility for carrying the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are Christ’s ambassadors wherever we go.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...”Matthew 28:19

Purpose 04 • Fellowship

Baptizing Them

Baptism identifies believers with Christ and visibly welcomes them into the fellowship of His Body. Christians are called to belong, not merely believe.

“...fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God.”Ephesians 2:19

Purpose 05 • Discipleship

Teaching Them to Obey

The church teaches and equips believers toward spiritual maturity—becoming more like Christ in thought, character, conduct, and action.

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you...”Matthew 28:20

The New Testament Church

Teaching. Fellowship. Worship. Ministry. Evangelism.

Acts 2 gives us a picture of believers living these purposes together.

The early church learned together, fellowshipped together, worshiped, cared for needs, prayed, and shared the Gospel. The methods available to the church may change, but these biblical purposes remain.

Ephesians 4

Equipping the Saints

Church leadership equips believers for ministry so that the Body of Christ is built up and believers mature in faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God.
