A Heart that Overflows

Good morning Ekklesia

A Heart that Overflows

"The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." — Proverbs 11:25 (NLT)

In this verse, God reveals a profound spiritual truth: there is blessing in generosity. The original Hebrew word for "generous" here speaks of one who blesses freely, who lives open-handedly, willing to give and uplift others. God’s heart for us is that we live in this way, in a cycle of giving and receiving His blessings—not for selfish gain, but to reflect His character and expand His kingdom. When we bless others, we reflect the heart of Christ, who poured out everything on the cross. This passage isn’t just about material generosity; it speaks to a lifestyle of giving ourselves to God and others. Whether it’s sharing time, kindness, or forgiveness, when we pour out from a heart touched by Jesus, He promises to fill us again.

Ask yourself today, "How can I refresh someone else?" Perhaps it’s a kind word to someone struggling, a listening ear, or a simple prayer for a friend. When we make room in our lives to bless others, we create space for the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. Living generously isn’t about wealth; it’s about letting Christ’s love overflow. As you walk in this truth, trust that God will refresh you, bringing peace, joy, and purpose into your life.

"Lord Jesus, thank You for being the ultimate example of generosity. Today, I surrender my heart, my resources, and my time to You. Teach me to live with an open hand, to refresh others as You refresh me. Fill me with Your Spirit, that I may pour out Your love freely. I commit to walk as Your disciple, to live generously and faithfully in all things. Amen."
