Becoming Lovable

Becoming Lovable and Trusting God's Guidance in Choosing a Partner

"Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires." - Psalm 37:4 (NLT)

Good morning Ekklesia, the journey to becoming lovable and finding love is one that God deeply cares about. He understands your desire to love and be loved in return. As you walk this path, remember to delight in the Lord, for He promises to give you the desires of your heart when you align your life with His will.

In your quest to find the right partner, it’s crucial to ask, "Am I choosing the right partner? Is my choice your choice, God?" This question requires a heart tuned to God’s voice above all else. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”* Trusting that God’s plans are good, we can confidently seek His guidance in our relationships.

As you grow in becoming lovable, reflect on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, which describes love as patient, kind, not envious or boastful, not proud or rude, not self-seeking or easily angered, and keeping no record of wrongs. Strive to embody these attributes, and seek a partner who does the same.

Psalm 37:4 emphasizes a heart posture of delighting in the Lord. The Hebrew word for "delight" (עָנַג, `anag) implies a sense of exquisite pleasure and enjoyment. When we find our deepest joy and satisfaction in God, He aligns our desires with His perfect will. This verse assures us that as we make God our priority, our desires, including those for a loving relationship, will be fulfilled according to His plan.

1. Delight in the Lord: Make your relationship with God your primary focus. Spend time in worship, prayer, and studying His Word. As you grow closer to Him, your desires will naturally align with His.

2. Embrace Love's Attributes: Develop the characteristics of love described in 1 Corinthians 13. Strive to be patient, kind, and selfless in your interactions, making yourself lovable in the process.

3. Seek God’s Voice: Regularly ask God for guidance in your relationships. Be patient and open to His direction, even if it differs from your initial plans.

4. Wise Counsel: Surround yourself with godly mentors and friends who can offer wisdom and discernment. Sometimes, God speaks through the advice and experiences of others.

Heavenly Father, I delight in You and seek Your guidance in my journey to love and be loved. Help me to embody the characteristics of love and to choose a partner aligned with Your will. Let Your voice be the loudest in my heart, guiding me to the right person at the right time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Ekklesia Family, let us commit to delighting in the Lord and seeking His guidance in our relationships. Trust that as we grow in love and become lovable, God will faithfully lead us to the partners He has chosen for us.
