Filled By God

Good morning Ekklesia

"Empty Yourself So You Can Be Filled by God"

Philippians 2:1-3 (NLT): "Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves."

Family, in this passage, Paul calls believers into a profound life of unity, humility, and selflessness. It begins with a heart check: Are we truly encouraged, comforted, and united in Christ? This isn’t a superficial agreement, but a calling to lay down personal pride and embrace the humility Jesus modeled for us. Paul's words remind us that the power and presence of God flow most freely through empty vessels—those who’ve let go of selfish ambition, who seek the good of others above themselves, and who live for God’s glory rather than their own.

We live in a world that constantly pushes us to seek recognition, Paul reminds us to let go of the need for personal elevation. This is where we hear the Spirit's voice calling us, "Empty Yourself so You can be filled by God Himself." What does that look like in our daily lives? It means releasing our own agendas, our need for control, and our desire for others' approval. It’s choosing to make room for God’s purposes in every situation. When we come to Him with open, surrendered hearts, He fills us with His Spirit—granting us peace, joy, and strength to love others with true compassion and humility.

Imagine and envision a day where, instead of striving to impress others, we intentionally seek ways to serve. Instead of looking for what we can gain, we look to what we can give. It’s not easy, but as we empty ourselves of our own will, we create space for the abundant life that Jesus promises us.

Lord, we come before You today with humble hearts, asking You to reveal any areas where we’re clinging to pride, selfish ambition, or personal gain. Help us to empty ourselves, Lord, so that You can fill us with Your Spirit. Teach us to walk in true humility and unity with our brothers and sisters. We desire to be vessels for Your love, compassion, and truth in a world that desperately needs to see You. Strengthen us in our journey to become more like Jesus, that we might fulfill Your calling with joy and selflessness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

If today’s word has stirred your heart, and you feel the call to know Jesus more deeply, to follow Him in discipleship, and to be part of a community that seeks to live out this love, we invite you to join us. At Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, we are committed to walking alongside one another as we grow in Christ. There is a place for you here—a place to empty yourself of the burdens of this world and be filled with the life-giving Spirit of God. Come, and let’s pursue His heart together!
