Finding God in the Little Things
Good morning Ekklesia Family
In 1 Kings 19:11-12 (NLT), Elijah experienced God in a way that was unexpected. He was told to stand on the mountain and wait for the Lord to pass by. First came a powerful wind, then an earthquake, and after that, a fire. But the Lord was not in any of these grand events. Instead, He came in a gentle whisper. This moment reveals that God often speaks to us in the still, small moments of life—the little things that we might overlook if we’re not paying attention.
God’s presence isn't always found in the extraordinary; sometimes, it's in the quiet moments—a child's laughter, a gentle breeze, or a simple act of kindness. Imagine being in the midst of a stormy sea of life, seeking God in the waves crashing around you, but it is in the calm after the storm, in the soft whisper of the wind, that you feel His peace.
Today, as you go about your day, pause and take notice of the little things—those moments that might seem insignificant but are filled with God’s love and presence. Whether it's a smile from a stranger, a blooming flower, or the warmth of the sun, these small blessings are reminders that God is with you in every detail of your life. Start to cultivate a heart that is sensitive to these moments, allowing them to draw you closer to God and deepen your relationship with Him.
If you haven't yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, know that He is calling you through these small moments. He wants to be a part of your life, not just in the big decisions but in every detail. Jesus died on the cross for you, so you could experience the fullness of God's love in every aspect of your life. Today, I invite you to open your heart to Him. Let Him in, and discover the beauty of finding God in the little things.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gentle whispers of Your love in our daily lives. Help us to see You in the little things, to be aware of Your presence in every moment. For those who are seeking, I pray that they would find You in the quiet places of their hearts. For those who have not yet accepted You, I pray that today would be the day they say yes to Jesus. May Your peace, love, and grace fill us all as we journey through life, always finding You along the way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
