God’s Choices vs Good Choices

Good morning Ekklesia,

In Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT), Jesus teaches, "You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow, and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it."

The choices we make every day shape our lives. The world often presents us with options that seem good on the surface—promises of success, comfort, and happiness. But not every good choice is a God choice. The enemy can disguise distractions as opportunities, leading us down paths that pull us away from God’s purpose.

To discern God’s will, we must rely on prayer and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

When faced with a decision, pause and pray. Ask God to reveal His will. Don’t rush into choices based on emotion or pressure from others. Instead, take time to discern—consult His Word, seek counsel from godly mentors, and listen for the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. Remember, a choice that aligns with God’s will may not always be easy, but it leads to life and peace.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help us to discern between what is good and what is truly from You. Teach us to walk the narrow path, even when it’s difficult, trusting that Your choices for our lives lead to abundant life. Strengthen us to resist the temptations of the world and to seek Your will in all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

If you are at a crossroads today, unsure of which path to take, I invite you to surrender your heart to Jesus. Allow Him to lead you in every decision. Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where we walk together, discerning and following God’s will. Come, be a part of a community committed to choosing God over the world. Visit us at EkklesiaChristianLife.org to start your journey with us. God bless you.
