God’s Message on Our Hearts

Good Morning Ekklesia Family

2 Corinthians 3:3 - A New Kind of Writing: God’s Message on Our Hearts

2 Corinthians 3:3 (ESV)"And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."

Connecting This Verse to Our Bible Study

Last night, we explored how God has written His messages:

  • On stone – The Ten Commandments, a permanent law for His people.

  • On a wall – A warning of judgment to King Belshazzar.

  • On the ground – A message of mercy and grace from Jesus.

But 2 Corinthians 3:3 introduces a new and beautiful idea: God is now writing His message on human hearts through His Spirit!

1. "You are a letter from Christ"

Paul tells the believers in Corinth that their lives are a testimony—a "letter" written by Christ Himself.

  • Instead of using stone tablets or physical ink, Jesus writes His message in and through us.

  • Our lives should reflect His grace, love, and transformation, like a letter that others can read.

2. "Written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God"

  • The Old Covenant (the Law, written on stone) was external, requiring human effort to obey.

  • The New Covenant (in Christ) is internal—God’s Spirit transforms our hearts from within (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

  • This is not just rules on a page, but a living relationship with Jesus.

3. "Not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts"

  • In contrast to the Ten Commandments given on stone, God’s law is now written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33).

  • This means God’s will and truth are meant to live in us, guiding us daily.

What Is God Writing on Your Heart Today?

  1. Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to shape you into a "living letter" that reflects Christ?

  2. Are you stuck in the old way of trying to obey externally, or have you let God transform your heart?

  3. If someone were to "read" your life, what message would they see?

Surrender to God’s Hand – Let Him continue writing His truth on your heart.

Live as a Letter for Others – Show Christ’s love, forgiveness, and transformation.

Walk in the Spirit – Don't rely on outward religion but on an inward relationship with Jesus.

Let's Pray

Heavenly Father,Thank You for writing Your message on my heart. I don’t want to just follow You out of duty—I want to be transformed from the inside out. Help me to live as a testimony of Your grace, a "letter from Christ" that others can see. Let my life reflect Your love, truth, and mercy.

Holy Spirit, continue to shape me. Remove anything that is not from You, and write Your will on my heart. I surrender to Your leading. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God is not just writing on stone or walls—He is writing on you. Let your life be a letter that glorifies Jesus.
