Have We Outsourced God?

Have We Outsourced God?

Good morning Ekklesia

Have you noticed, over the past few years, how easy it is to substitute convenience for God’s presence? We are bombarded with distractions—technology, busy schedules, and superficial spiritual practices (even dare I say it ONLINE CHURCH). But God’s Word reminds us in Exodus 20:3, "You must not have any other god but me." God is jealous for our love and attention. Have we placed comfort, routine, or even religious activities in His rightful place? Are we living a facade of faith instead of offering ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to Him?

The essence of our relationship with God is personal. Romans 12:1 calls us to be living sacrifices, not outsourcing our devotion but surrendering our whole lives to Him. When we substitute convenience for God’s presence, we rob ourselves of the deep, transformational relationship He desires with us. Jesus withdrew to solitary places to be alone with the Father (Luke 5:16). In this intimate time, He found strength, clarity, and direction. Are we seeking this same connection, or are we outsourcing our spiritual growth to others?

1. Evaluate your daily life: How much time are you truly giving to God in prayer and study?

2. Restore personal moments with God: Set aside time to meet Him alone. Listen for His voice.

3. Obey God’s voice in turbulent times: Trust Him when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or difficult, knowing He will guide you.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times we have placed other things before You. In these uncertain times, we commit to seeking Your face, drawing near to Your presence, and obeying Your voice. Help us to live not in convenience but in deep connection with You. Strengthen us to be living sacrifices, devoted to Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you find yourself drifting away from God’s presence, today is your moment to return. Join us at Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where we are committed to following Christ, living for Him, and walking in His will every day. Come and experience the fullness of God’s presence—no more substitutes, only the real thing. Visit us at EkklesiaChristianLife.org to begin your journey with Jesus today.
