Looking for God’s Face in Others

Looking for God’s Face in Others

Good morning Ekklesia

"Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.’"

—Genesis 1:26 (NLT)

Each person you encounter today carries the image of God. From the joyful neighbor to the weary stranger, God's fingerprints are on every life. This truth challenges us to look beyond the surface, beyond differences or inconveniences, and see His divine reflection in others. When we intentionally seek God’s face in those we meet, our hearts grow in compassion, humility, and grace.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT), “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” By seeing others through God’s eyes, we fulfill our calling to love as Christ loved.

1. Pause and Pray: Before starting your day, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to His image in those you meet.

2. Practice Kindness: Show tangible love—offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or a kind word.

3. Extend Grace: Remember that everyone is on a journey. Be patient and forgiving, reflecting Christ’s character.

As we learn to recognize God’s presence in others, we become vessels of His peace and love. This practice deepens our discipleship and invites others to experience His transforming grace through us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating each of us in Your image. Open my eyes today to see Your face in everyone I meet. Fill me with Your Spirit so I may love, serve, and encourage others as Jesus did. Let my life point to You, that others may come to know Your love. I surrender my heart to Your work and my hands to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
