Stop Explaining Yourself
"People Who Are Meant for You, Hear You Differently: Stop Explaining Yourself"
Good morning Ekklesia
John 10:27: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
Proverbs 18:2: "Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions."
Matthew 13:16: "But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear."
1 Corinthians 2:14: "But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them, and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means."
The Scriptures remind us that understanding is a gift granted to those with ears to hear and hearts prepared to receive. Jesus illustrates this truth in John 10:27, stating that His sheep recognize His voice and follow Him. This highlights the spiritual truth that those who are aligned with God's purpose for your life will not only hear you but will understand you at a deeper level.
Proverbs 18:2 warns against striving for validation from those who are uninterested in true understanding. Matthew 13:16 reassures us that the ability to hear and understand is a blessing. Finally, 1 Corinthians 2:14 explains that spiritual matters require spiritual discernment—those who are spiritually aligned with you will naturally comprehend your heart and mission.
1. Know Your Voice:
Trust that God has given you a unique voice and purpose. Spend time in prayer and study to discern how God is speaking to and through you.
2. Discern Your Audience:
Recognize that not everyone is equipped to understand your journey. Focus your energy on those God has placed in your life who align with His purpose for you.
3. Stop Seeking Validation from Everyone:
Accept that you do not need to explain or justify your calling to those who are not meant to walk with you. Obedience to God is greater than human approval.
4. Rest in God's Plan:
Trust that God will connect you with the right people—those who will hear, understand, and support your walk in faith. Focus on aligning with His will, and He will guide you.
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with a purpose and a voice uniquely designed for Your glory. Help me to trust in the understanding of those You have placed in my life and to stop striving for validation from others. Give me the discernment to recognize those who hear me differently because they are aligned with Your will. I surrender my need to explain myself and seek only to please You. Strengthen me to walk boldly in the path You have laid before me, confident that You are guiding my steps. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
