The Wisdom We Speak

"The Wisdom We Speak"

Job 15:2 (NLT): “A wise person wouldn’t answer with such empty talk! You are nothing but a windbag.”

Beloved Ekklesia, this verse from Job is a sobering reminder about the importance of wisdom and the power of our words. While Eliphaz unfairly accuses Job, the truth embedded in this passage challenges us to examine the kind of words we speak. Are they full of life and wisdom from God, or are they empty, unfruitful, and without purpose?

God has called us, His Church, to be vessels of His truth and carriers of His presence. We are not meant to fill the air with meaningless words that are like a "windbag," offering no substance or power. Instead, our words must reflect the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit. As James 3:17 teaches, the wisdom from above is pure, peaceful, and full of mercy. This kind of wisdom transforms our speech, turning it into a source of encouragement and life.

As part of Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, you are a prophetic people, called to speak life and declare the truth of God’s Kingdom into every situation. Empty talk does not build the Kingdom—it is Spirit-filled words, rooted in Scripture and love, that have the power to heal, restore, and bring hope. Your voice matters. Choose to use it wisely.

Today, reflect on your words. Are they aligning with the heart of God? Are they speaking life to those around you? Remember, you are the salt and light of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14). Let your speech reflect that divine calling.

1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide your words today.

2. Seek opportunities to encourage, uplift, and speak life into someone’s situation.

3. Meditate on Scriptures about wisdom and ask God to grow it within you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling the Family of Ekklesia to be a light in this world. Cleanse our hearts and purify our speech so that every word we speak brings honor to You. Let us reject empty talk and be filled with Your wisdom, speaking only what aligns with Your truth and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Step out today as carriers of life-giving words, building the Kingdom of God wherever you go!
