When Life Becomes Unbearable
Good morning Ekklesia Today I want to help you remember what to do when life gets tough.
"God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea." - Psalm 46:1-2 (NLT)
This passage from Psalm 46 vividly illustrates the chaos and turmoil that life can sometimes bring. The shaking earth and crumbling mountains represent the overwhelming challenges that can make us feel lost and afraid. Yet, the psalmist confidently declares that God is our refuge—a safe place we can run to when life’s storms rage. He is our strength, providing the support we need to stand firm even when everything around us is falling apart.
When life becomes overwhelming, and you feel like you can’t bear it any longer, remember these truths. God is not far away; He is right there with you, ready to help. In those moments, here’s what you can do:
1. Turn to God in Prayer: Pour out your heart to Him. Share your fears, frustrations, and struggles. He is listening and ready to provide the peace you need.
2. Meditate on God’s Promises: Reflect on scriptures like Psalm 46 that remind you of God’s constant presence and faithfulness. Let His Word strengthen your heart.
3. Seek Community Support: Don’t go through your struggles alone. Reach out to those around you—family, friends, or church members—who can pray with you and offer encouragement.
4. Practice Gratitude: Even in the darkest times, there is always something to be thankful for. Focusing on your blessings can bring a sense of peace and perspective.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in times of trouble. When life becomes too much for us to bear, remind us to turn to You, to trust in Your promises, and to find comfort in Your presence. For those who are struggling right now, I ask that You wrap them in Your love, give them the strength they need, and fill their hearts with Your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, know that He offers you a refuge in life’s storms. He stands ready to forgive your sins, give you peace, and lead you into eternal life. If you feel that tug on your heart, pray this simple prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior, and help me follow You every day. Amen."
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of God. I encourage you to connect with a local church, such as Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries, where you can grow in your faith and find the support you need on your journey.
