Good morning Ekklesia
Yesterday at 4:44, I Began Praying for You
John 4:50-53 (NLT)
"Then Jesus told him, ‘Go back home. Your son will live!’ And the man believed what Jesus said and started home. While the man was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well. He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied, ‘Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!’ Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him, ‘Your son will live.’ And he and his entire household believed in Jesus.”
Yesterday, at about 4:30 p.m., I began writing a sermon for Ekklesia Christian Life Ministries when, at precisely 4:44 p.m., I sensed God speaking directly to my heart: “Serve and connect with others.” Immediately, I thought of you—my Ekklesia Family—and began to pray for you. As I prayed, I created a post reflecting the truth God had placed in my spirit: “All things doesn’t mean you have to do everything at once. Trust that Christ strengthens you for what He has called you to do today.” (Philippians 4:13).
That moment reminded me of the story in John 4, where Jesus spoke healing into the life of a soldier’s son, and at that very hour, transformation occurred. God’s Word is alive, and prayer unlocks miracles.
In John 4, a royal official approached Jesus with desperation, seeking healing for his son. Jesus’ response, “Go back home. Your son will live,” tested the man’s faith. Without witnessing immediate evidence, the man believed and acted on Jesus’ word. As he returned home, his servants confirmed that the healing occurred at the exact moment Jesus spoke.
This story reveals profound truths:
Faith doesn’t demand proof; it trusts God’s Word.
Jesus operates beyond time and distance. His power reaches where human hands cannot.
God’s answers often coincide with moments of faith-filled action.
1. God’s Word is Immediate and Powerful: The same Jesus who spoke healing into the soldier’s son speaks life into your situation. Trust that His Word will not return void.
2. Faith Requires Movement: Like the official, we must act on God’s promises, even before we see the results. Step forward, knowing that God is already working.
3. Your Obedience Inspires Others: The soldier’s faith led his entire household to believe. When you trust God, those around you are encouraged to do the same.
4. Focus on Today’s Strength: Philippians 4:13 reminds us that Christ strengthens us for what we are called to do today—not everything at once. Trust Him to empower you for the season you’re in.
What has God done in your life since I began praying with you yesterday? Pause to reflect on the moments of grace, answered prayers, and small miracles that have unfolded since faith was activated.
Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking into our lives and strengthening us for what You’ve called us to do today. I surrender my worries and my need for immediate results, trusting that You are working in Your perfect timing. Help me to walk in faith, knowing that Your Word is alive and active. Bless my Ekklesia Family and those I pray for. May they see Your hand moving in their lives. Strengthen us to serve and connect with others, reflecting Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you’ve been waiting for a word from the Lord, this is it: Jesus loves you and has already spoken life and purpose into your future. Trust Him today.
